ShelfBeacon privacy policy

ShelfBeacon is built for read-only product monitoring and daily operational summaries.

Overview

ShelfBeacon helps Shopify merchants review product data, store risk signals, approved competitor signals, exports, and optional daily reminders. This policy explains the data used to provide those features.

Data ShelfBeacon accesses

  • Store domain and app installation metadata.
  • Product and variant data available through Shopify read_products.
  • App preferences, watched competitor domains, scan history, issue summaries, export metadata, and reminder preferences.
  • Shopify Billing status and subscription records.
  • Operational logs and email delivery evidence.

How data is used

Data is used to run the daily watch, show fix-first results, generate exports, prepare optional daily email digests, enforce plan limits, support billing, and maintain security and reliability.

Email notifications

Daily digest emails are sent only to saved recipients configured in ShelfBeacon. Emails include unsubscribe or preference controls when production delivery is active.

Data sharing

ShelfBeacon uses service providers for hosting, database storage, email delivery, and Shopify app operations. Data is not sold.

Retention and deletion

ShelfBeacon retains operational data needed for the app, billing, support, and audit history. When a store uninstalls the app or Shopify sends privacy compliance requests, ShelfBeacon processes those events through the configured webhooks.

Security

ShelfBeacon uses protected production configuration, webhook verification, access controls, and operational kill switches for scheduler and email delivery.
